Bucknell's Michael Chauner ('08) outcycled and outsmarted 57 cyclists from 35 schools to win the featured 73-mile Eastern Collegiate Cycling Championship on Saturday April 30. Sophomore Charlie Alexander took 2nd place in the men's B category Criterium Championship on Sunday May 1 and team Captain, Kyle Lobisser (06) scored points in both the A Road Race and A Criterium over the weekend to help Bucknell finish the 2005 season in a strong 7th place among Division 2 schools. 325 cyclists in six ability categories competed in the Championship weekend, hosted by the University of New Hampshire . Wed, 13 Apr 2005 08:19:41 EST Bucknell Cycling Leads Division-2 Schools in Individual Points http://www.bucknellcycling.com/news/2005/columbia.html Bucknell has claimed the number one spot for Division 2 schools in A category cycling competition. Two top ten finishes in races hosted by Columbia and Princeton last weekend catapulted Freshman Michael Chauner into the spot acing out Dartmouth and Yale. Chauner has scored a total of 289 points in the first seven races of the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference season putting him 69 points ahead of Dartmouth's Tim Clement and 137 points ahead of Yale's Adam Winck in the overall Division 2 school rankings. Chauner has also moved up to second place overall in Combined Division 1 and 2 standings behind season leader Brent Davis of Columbia.
