Penn State Race

>Bucknell Cycling enjoyed its fifth race weekend close to home in State College, Pennsylvania with the Nittany Lion Classic hosted by Penn State. The Classic featured a grueling road race in Black Moshannon State Park Saturday morning, and an Individual Time Trial and technical Criterium in downtown State College on Sunday.
Philadelphia Weekend

Bucknell Cycling's second race weekend brought miserable weather, but unstoppable success. The Phoenixville Fury Road Race, feared for two sizable climbs, was transformed into a technical downtown criterium due to dangerous rain and flooding. On Sunday, the team time trial and Philly Flyer circuit race continued in dry but windy conditions. Sunday's races were help in historical Fairmount Park along the Schukyll River. Each year, this weekend is a joint weekend between Easter and Atlantic Conferences, which brings large field sizes and great competition.
Rutgers Season Opener

The Bucknell Cycling Team had a successful first weekend of racing for the 2008 season. The Rutgers races held in New Brunswick, New Jersey, featured an individual prologue time trial, a criterium, and a circuit race. Racing with 12 riders, the Bucknell team was well represented throughout the men's and women's categories...

Bucknell Cycling has changed shape tremendously with the graduation of many valuable seniors. Despite the loss, the new leaders are excited to maintain the competitive prowess of last year's team. As usual, the fall and winter are working times for the team, both on our bikes, in the classroom, and for the organization of the team. The Bucknell Cycling team stamped its authority at the 3rd annual Bucknell Cycling Classic as the riders collectively scored four separate wins in just two days of racing. The team bested 18 opposing universities to win the overall weekend for Division II schools. Despite tedious work, meticulous planning, and crack-of-dawn mornings preparing for the races by the student-athletes, the Bison were able to move from 6th to 3rd in the overall team conference standings as well as mark the first ever home-win on a Bucknell hosted weekend...

The second race of the collegiate season, held at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia was a combined weekend with the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference as well as the Atlantic Collegiate Cycling Conference, thereby drawing incredibly large fields, especially in Men’s B. Yet the Bucknell Men’s B did not shy away and had finishers in the top 10 in all three races...

Sophomore Michael Chauner dominated the first race weekend of the 2007 East
Collegiate Cycling Conference season held at Rutgers University. With a sprint victory in Saturday’s
criterium followed by an impressive win in the circuit race the following day, Chauner started off the
season incredibly strong. Sophomore Jeff Boehmer proved he’s been training hard since last season. Starting
out in men’s B this year, Boehmer garnered his first win during Saturday’s crit....
Bucknell Cycling Member and Past Club President Wins Prestigious Stenner Scholarship from USA Cycling

recently won a $1000 scholarship for all of his efforts. Dowling a senior Biology major, who has maintained
a 3.6 GPA during his cycling career, helped Bucknell cycling grow from a six member team to its current

The first task for the 2005 - 2006 team was the creation of a sponsorship
packet and finding sponsors to cover the cost of the growing team. The sponsorship packet was first
drafted in July and by late November five new sponsors had been signed including Days Inn of Lewisburg,
Velocity Endurance Sports Training, Sun Orthopedic, Ed Yatkowsky & Associates, Serotta bicycles, and

Sophomore Michael Chauner took a decisive lead in the overall standings by taking two first
places and a second in the A Category races and Bucknell's team of 2 women and 11 men, the school's
